The Lillis Foundation (TLF) is a 501c(3) private foundation supported by Charles and Gwendolyn Lillis. Its primary mission is to provide access to educational opportunities that could impact an individual's future economic well-being.
For our founders, Charles and Gwendolyn, concentrating the Foundation's efforts on education was more than a culmination of a shared life's passion but, rather the inevitable result of their mirrored academic journeys. Both were among the first from their families to attend college. Both earned Ph.D.'s. The two also credit higher education not only with their mutual professional success, but with the love of learning that continues to enrich their lives today. Their hope for the Lillis Foundation is to empower grantees who wish to embark on a similar life-journey
The Lillis Foundation strives to improve educational opportunities and help the most vulnerable segments of society by developing strong, internal initiatives and nurturing fruitful collaborations with established programs who share in our passion and guiding principles.
The Lillis Foundation's mission, designed by our founders own experiences, is primarily concerned with connecting youth, and young adults, to viable educational opportunities. The Foundation hopes to assist our grantees reach their full potential and, ideally, afford them the benefits bestowed to those who pursue higher education.
Another critical component of our mission is enhancing the lives of disadvantaged children and seniors. With that in mind, the Lillis Foundation supports organizations already involved in addressing the needs of these populations.
